About This Place

Nestled at Isonsarvastontie 4, in the lively city of Helsinki, "Satamakahvila Messi" stands as a delightful beacon for those seeking a serene escape by the water. This charming harbor cafe, positioned near a small boat harbor, embraces a warm and inviting atmosphere that captivates both locals and adventurous visitors. During the warmer months, the cafe becomes a bustling hub, perfect for enjoying a leisurely coffee or a satisfying lunch while soaking in picturesque views.

At Satamakahvila Messi, simplicity reigns supreme. The menu boasts a selection of liquid and solid delights, with options that cater to those seeking both refreshing beverages and hearty meals. Although some patrons may find the vegetarian offerings slightly limited, the café remains a treasure trove for those craving a relaxing spot, making it ideal for families and casual gatherings. What truly sets Satamakahvila Messi apart is its enchanting ambiance. The harbor decor, combined with soft music, envelops visitors in a soothing experience. As literature-loving customers have noted, the service is both friendly and efficient, establishing a welcoming vibe that enhances the overall experience. Relaxing on the terrace, with ample spots for sunbathers and shade-seekers alike, visitors can relish the gentle sounds of harbor life while enjoying their favorite treats.

However, as charming as it is, it’s important to note that Satamakahvila Messi isn’t a typical pop-in cafe. Its location is somewhat tucked away, making it best suited for those already visiting the harbor or purposefully making their way to this hidden gem. For those among the bustling city who venture off the beaten path, the payoff is well worth it.

The cafe's operational hours also warrant attention—kitchen service wraps up an hour before the café closes, and during the harsh Finnish winter, the doors remain shut until the warmer months return. For anyone planning a visit, the joy of discovering this little haven, coupled with stunning marina views and the vibrancy of the surrounding paths, makes Satamakahvila Messi a must-experience destination.

In short, Satamakahvila Messi is not just a cafe; it’s a slice of paradise where the flavors of summer meet the serene backdrop of the harbor. FYI: The kitchen closes an hour before the closing time.

A small feelgood harbor cafe onshore at a small boat harbor. This is really enjoyable place to visit during summertime when weather is fine. Prices aren't too bad and you can get various liquid/solid beverages here - some of them might even contain alcohol. This place is located quite a bit off from beaten path so in practice you are either the user of harbor or random visitor that really want to visit here during your daily routines. I should point out for random visitors that this place isn't open when there's a challenging disturbance in summer weather. And this place isn't open during winter for quite obvious reasons. Service was pleasant and nothing to complain there really. Milieu is really enjoyable with harborish decorative elements and music isn't too aloud. Everything feels quite relaxing here even though there's always something happening at the harbor. Terrace is quite sunny but there's plenty of shadow too if you're not sun worshiper. They don't have coffee milk that's vegetarian friendly e.g. oat milk. In generally the selection here isn't so vegetarian friendly but I wasn't too surprised of this. This is after all a small cafe mainly for harbor visitors. So my overall opion of this cafe was really positive. It's not exactly located well for pop-up or passing by visits because it's at the onshore corner of a harbor but if you're using a bicycle or other vehicle then this place is quite joyable place to visit and I strongly recommend it because it's quite relaxing experience to have.

What a nice little place for coffee and lunch. Beautiful marina. Picturesque walking paths around the island. Very nice atmosphere with friendly people all around.

Nice harbor cafe. Not fancy, good for kids. Ice cream, coffee, beer, wine, live music on some evenings. Nice views of marina. Good service. Hard to find parking, the parking lots were full when we came
